Marilyn Scott
Visually, I am excited by objects from the gritty industrial past and also by the constantly changing perspective in our landscape. In painting both found objects and scenes from nature, it is important to me to capture what is not immediately perceived, such as the sun-bleached wood of an oar or the rust on a nail head. Reflection also intrigues me, enhancing the subject as shadow and light play with depth and movement, making it one with its surroundings.
