I work with materials I find in my west end neighbourhood and on local beaches. I find fragments, gather pieces, and put them together in new constellations. I create mosaics made from, and on, the objects my neighbours discard, and find beauty in broken mirrors and driftwood. Through the eye of my camera I look for more patterns, drawn to reflections, curious about perceptions and distortions in what viewers see.
I am passionate about re-imagining the discarded shards of western society, and inviting others to see them afresh. I hope my creations might invite viewers to reflect on life-giving ways of engaging with ourselves, as well as the manufactured and natural world around us. |
