2 3 4 Someone's tartan
I don’t know if this is anyone’s family tartan so I think I’ll make it mine… This piece began as hundreds of stringers, rods of glass similar to very thin spaghettini, broken to size, arranged into the desired colour sequence, and overlapped to create a woven effect. I manipulated the shape of the slumping mold by adding different thicknesses of fibre blanket to achieve a more organic shape.

2 Sky on fire
Glass powder and glass confetti on a crystal clear circle of glass. Glass confetti refers to paper thin shards of transparent glass that I break into the shapes I want, each one separately placed in this case using tweezers to create the pine tree forest.

2 3 4 Round and Round Retro
A combination of layers of glass shapes, each one cut and arranged into what I call retro squares because of the explosion of colour. Stringers and glass dots too. Creating these retro pieces is meditative for me, a slow and organic process that pushes away thoughts of anything else as I play with what seems to belong where.

2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Ginger
Using a frittage technique, this piece combines various sizes of glass frit into a design which goes through two firings before a slightly cooler third, creating its frosted lacy border. The final step is draping the glass over a ceramic mold to achieve its flowing bowl shape.

Individual strips of coloured opaque glass are molded to be later woven with straight-cut pieces, resembling the traditional warp and weft of fabric weaving.

2 Lost SpringIf you look on the bottom of this bowl, you will see it also has a design, created using coloured glass powder and clear frit in a migration technique.
Adding a design to the bottom means an extra firing, well worth the added appeal it provides when draping opaque glass on this shape of mold. 9.5” round x 3.5” Price: $100 1
2 3 4 5 Not for soup
8” x 6.5” x 2.5”
Price: $120 Glass fusing is all about volume control and understanding how heat affects its movement. In this case, pieces of opaque glass are cut and layered to overlap but leaving enough space for random holes to emerge. After an initial firing to form the base shape, layers of glass powder are applied to create a finish in blended colours, similar to a ceramic glaze. 1
